Buyers Agents dominate “The Block”!

Obviously more consumers are valuing the engagement of buyers agents here in Sydney when it comes to representing them at auctions.  On last night’s Ch 9 finale of “The Block” more than 50% of the bidders were buyers agents, including REBAA member firms CohenHandler, SydneySlice, Tracey Chandler buyers agents,Rose and Jones and Sydney Property Finders.  Whilst not all were successful (with some commenting that they believed the sale prices exceeded current fair market values) it was a good demonstration of the value-add that a good BA can bring to what can be a highly emotionally-charged event. A perfect example was the probable unnecessary final high bid by a purchaser of the last house (Phil and Amity’s) that was a good $50K over the previous bid.  Being able to keep your cool in the face of stiff competition, award-winning auctioneers and TV cameras certainly requires a professional who’s done it many times before, knows the auction game and can keep a straight face.  Well done BlockHeads and buyers agents!
